Question 1

What is Handpass?

Accepted Answer

Handpass is a new Australian marketplace: the proper way to buy and sell second-hand near you. You deal directly with people nearby, agree on a price, and hand the item over in person. The app hasn't launched yet, so join the waitlist and we'll tell you the moment it opens.

Question 2

How do I contact a seller?

Accepted Answer

Every listing will have a message button. Ask questions, make an offer, and sort out where to meet in one app chat, from first hello to handover. No phone numbers traded, no chasing people across three apps.

Question 3

How do payments work?

Accepted Answer

Directly between you and the seller. Handpass doesn't process payments, hold money, or take a cut. Most people pay cash at pick-up or bank transfer at the handover, after they've seen the item. Never pay for something you haven't inspected.

Question 4

How do I list an item?

Accepted Answer

When the app opens: create a free account, tap the plus button, add photos, set a price, write an honest description, and publish. Your listing goes live straight away. Until then, join the waitlist and we'll let you know the moment you can start selling.

Question 5

Is Handpass free to use?

Accepted Answer

Yes, for now. Listing is free, and Handpass doesn't take a cut of your sale or charge a selling fee — payment goes directly between you and the other person. If we ever add an optional paid service, we'll name it and price it clearly before you use it.

Question 6

Can I sell internationally?

Accepted Answer

No. Handpass is built for local, in-person handovers within Australia. There's no shipping and no cross-border selling, because the point is dealing with someone you can actually meet.

Question 7

Is my personal information safe?

Accepted Answer

Your contact details are never shown publicly. Messages stay inside the app, and you choose what appears on your profile. The full detail is in our Privacy Policy.

Question 8

What items are prohibited?

Accepted Answer

Anything illegal, dangerous, or regulated, including weapons, drugs, counterfeit goods, stolen property, and items that breach copyright or consumer law. Listings that break the rules get removed, and accounts that keep breaking them get suspended.

Question 9

How do I report a problem?

Accepted Answer

Email support@handpass.co and we'll look into it. Once the app opens, you'll also be able to report any listing or profile from its three-dot menu. Every report gets reviewed.

Question 10

How do reviews work?

Accepted Answer

After a completed deal, buyer and seller can review each other. Reviews only come from real transactions, so you can't rate someone you haven't dealt with. Every rating you see was earned, not bought.
